Creative Clay Handbuilding
This beginning clay class introduces techniques for handbuilding functional or sculptural clay projects. Try your hand at pinching, coiling, and slab construction methods. Class time includes demos, visual presentations for inspiration, plenty of work time, and individual attention. Explore surface decoration techniques, textural effects, and glazing to enhance your work. Come to class in old clothes. Clay and basic tools will be available for purchase from the art center.
Monday mornings: September 13 - October 25; 9:30-Noon
Simply Slabs
Discover the creative possibilities of a simple slab of clay! In this introductory class, learn how to form hard or soft clay slabs into sculptural or functional forms like bowls, cups, boxes, and plates. Class time includes demos, visual presentations, plenty of work time, and individual attention. Explore basic decorating and glazing methods to enhance your creations. Project ideas will be available in class – or bring your own. Clay and basic tool kits will be available for purchase from the art center.
Wednesday evenings: September 15 - October 27; 6:30-9pm
